Here’s a great Vacation Rental in the Ballard area that we wanted to list on our site:
Welcome to the Ballard Farmhouse Garden Apartment, a unique vacation accommodation in the heart of the thriving Ballard neighborhood of Seattle.
The Ballard Farmhouse was built in 1904 and displays the unusual architecture of a classic farmhouse with Victorian influences. The house faced demolition for a neighborhood development when it was saved by a partnership of people dedicated to preserving this unique historical home. The house was moved 1 ½ blocks from its original location to its present site. It was lifted and the Garden Apartment built under the original structure. The entire original house was restored to its former glory.
The Garden Apartment features 9 foot ceilings and the use of unique “salvaged” materials including: vintage lighting, slate counters that were once school chalkboards, a school bathroom door, as well as cherry trim from the Seattle Opera House. The Apartment has great privacy, many large windows with great sun and a private patio area surrounded by a beautiful garden.
The apartment also offers all the modern conveniences including cable television, full kitchen, high speed internet, free domestic long distance phone service, instant hot water on demand, washer and dryer, and off street parking.
The Ballard Farmhouse is listed on the register of Ballard architectural landmarks In addition, it was one of the feature homes in the Ballard Historical Society’s 2004 Old House Tour.
The thriving area of Ballard is a historic Seattle neighborhood that was originally its own city before incorporation. Everything one needs for in-city living is within easy walking distance of the Farmhouse. There are two grocery stores and a video rental store within several blocks. Historic Downtown Ballard boasts many eclectic shops, bookstores, bars, wine tasting, restaurants and bistros. All are within one mile of the house, as is the Burke Gilman Trail (for biking, jogging or walking), and the Woodland Park Zoo. It’s an easy 10 minute drive or bus ride to Downtown Seattle, the University of Washington, the Space Needle and the Pike Place Market. Arguably the best saltwater beach in Seattle, Golden Gardens, is a mere 3 miles from the Farmhouse.
Don’t just stay in Seattle, stay at the Ballard Farmhouse!
